The counter is open three hours a day, Monday to Friday, and for most of California that is a day of driving or a flight. Three of the four things people go for can be done without going.
NICOP applications and renewals are filed online with NADRA and delivered to your address. Nobody needs to attend the consulate for a renewal. We complete the application, check the photograph and documents against NADRA's rules, and track it to delivery.
How we handle NICOPRenewals go to the mission by post with the old passport, the forms and the fee. The common reasons a file comes back are a wrong form edition, a photograph that fails the specification or a missing NICOP. We check all three before the envelope is sealed.
How we handle passportsThe consulate accepts attestation by post when your signature has been verified by a US Notary Public, so you sign in front of a notary near your home instead of at the counter. We draft the document to what the office in Pakistan will accept, arrange the notary step and send it for attestation.
How we handle Power of AttorneyUS citizens apply online for the Pakistan e-visa in most categories, and the sticker visa is handled by the mission. We confirm which category fits your trip, complete the application and check the supporting documents before submission.
How we handle visasCalifornia, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Alaska and Montana, ten states in all, under the consular jurisdiction published by the mission from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs circular of 17 September 2012. Wyoming goes to New York and Michigan and Ohio to Chicago, which surprises people.

The consulate publishes counter hours rather than an appointment system, so applications are submitted during the 10:00 to 13:00 window. Because that window is short and holidays are frequent, most of our clients avoid the trip altogether and have the paperwork sent by post instead.
In most cases, yes. The mission accepts a Power of Attorney by post when your signature has been verified by a US Notary Public, so you sign in front of a notary near your home and the document is mailed for attestation. Fees are set by the mission and NADRA, not by us, and they change, so we confirm the current amount for your service before you pay anything. As an example of the format, the consulate asks for a money order or cashier's check of US $30 payable to the Consulate General of Pakistan for a police clearance certificate. Our own fee is separate, flat and quoted in writing.
No. We are a private, bonded California consultancy. We prepare and submit applications and follow them up; we do not issue passports, NICOPs or attestations and we cannot change the mission's processing time. What we control is the part that causes most delays: an incomplete or wrongly addressed application.
